perfect

A rug can add a splash of color and enhance the look and aesthetic of a room, especially a bedroom. It can be an excellent addition to your living room, but sometimes you don’t know where to start, which can be the real issue. For this reason, it can be difficult to choose the perfect rug for your bedroom.

Rugs are perfect for your bedroom, especially if you choose them wisely. Therefore, choosing a rug should be well thought out, especially if it is a personal space. So without further ado, let’s dive into this article and find some of our tips on how to choose the perfect rug for your bedroom.

1. The size

perfect

Your bed should have a clear 36 inches on all sides to make your way around it unless it is against a wall. With that border in mind, measure the length and width of where you want to place your new rug. Lay out masking tape in the area where you want to place the rug to have an idea of the right dimension of the rug you want to buy.

The ideal rug should at least extend at least 2 feet beyond the edges of your bed so that you can step on them when you wake up. If you have a smaller room or are balling on a budget, then you might want to look into runners. They usually cost less and are as visually intriguing as a rug but cost much less.

2. Style

The style of the rug will depend on your personal choice and aesthetic, but it should also balance out the overall room. Our bedroom is usually our sanctuary, and it is the place where we all go when we want to get away from people, especially if you have roommates. You should focus more on comfort here instead of functionality because your bedroom won’t get a lot of foot traffic; you can splurge on a soft and fluffy rug.

If you are planning to have a big rug, then you might want to look into neutral colors as they won’t clash with the room. If you want a rug that goes with almost any color, you might want to look into a white rug, but this is one of the rugs out there that gets dirty quickly. If you are getting a smaller rug, then you might want to be a little bolder. Try a wool rug or a one with stripes as it will elongate your room.

3. Material

Color and style are very important when buying a rug, but you should also look into the rug’s material as there is an array of them currently on the market. If you are lazy like me and don’t like cleaning, then you might want to get a thinner and bumpier rug, as they tend to be easier to clean. You might want to look into sisal rugs if you fall in the former category, and your feet will also thank you for this.

You might also want to look into silk and viscose rug, they not only look nice, but they also add a shimmer to your room. However, if you have pets who sleep with you like me, then you might not want to look at this type of rug as it won’t take long to show wear.

So, if you have a pet, then you might want to look into polypropylene rugs. This type of rug is extremely durable, easy to clean and maintain, and also very easy to clean, and this is something we love to hear. This usually eliminates the need for a rug pad, and this means you will be less likely to slip and trip.

Also, be careful with where you place your rugs as if they are overexposed to the sun; then, they might change color and dull over time. If you don’t want to break the bank and switch and change your rug regularly, then you might want to look into nylon, cotton, and polyester rugs.
